This slide set was made by first photographing the entire northern sky. Then, using these images as a guide, graphic artists drew maps of each constellation region showing the most prominent stars of the constellation. Split image techniques were used to produce the final slide which has the original star field on the left and the star map connecting the brightest stars of the constellation on the right. The map shows the spectral colors of the 1st magnitude stars, selected prominent star clusters, nebula and galaxies. An extensive study guide is included which gives the mythology of each constellation as well as a modern description.
